I agree it's not that big of a deal, except that it was pretty funny. But how can you Palin supporters deny this is a PR SNAFU, a political screw up? Pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey is supposed to generate good PR, it's a photo-op, something for children, like the lighting of a Christmas tree. Instead we have a story about how incompetent the governor is/was and something that's totally inappropriate for children. It was a screw up by Palin. And it plays into her public caricature that she's stupid. Sure you dead enders will rally around and defend her. But she already has your support. She's trying to expand her appeal to something that could win a national election. This turkey thing isn't going to help with that. Really, it could've been a SNL skit. SD

You may think seeing a living animal killed is entertainment....All the killing in Iraq is funny to you.... Capital punishment is satisfying to you... But having an idiot politician use it for a photo op is totally stupid.... And no, I'm having turkey for Thanksgiving and Roast Beef for Xmas..... I dont' do the killing, nor do I find it entertaining to watch it, but I was born and raised to be carniverous. I don't fish, but I will eat fish also...
