Back when I was a dairy farmer the drought of 88 came along during an election year. The government could not give enough money away to rescue the farmers financed by the FHA. They wrote down loans, they restructured loans, they gave out crop damage payments, etc. Farmers like myself who were not financed with FHA got none of that. Farmers like myself who bought crop insurance did not qualify for the give aways. Within 10 years however 100% of the farms that I saw saved were bankrupt and auctioned. I expect the same result here.
