They were hired at $12/hour but the first paycheck arrived yesterday show $10.

Oh.. that's just SICK!! You can't just (morally speaking) hire someone under false pretenses for an agreed upon wage and them reduce it 17% for no cause without notifying them.

Strikes me that there would be a legal action that could be taken there (breach of "implied", or actual, employment contract), but certainly can understand where the job would be more important. And who wants to be black-balled for suing their boss?

In some ways, this situation harkens for a strengthening of some union activists, while other unions are going to get broken (UAW) by what's going on with GM.
