my feeling is that before drug stores entered the fray, medical practice were overwhelmed by demand and late comers were shut out. Actually i think the drug stores charge less than the doctors. They sub it out to nursing groups who come to the store and give the shots quickly and efficiently---something that doesnt happen at doctors offices in many cases..
