Just a little thought:

The most dangerous time for a person to hold a stock is the day when earnings are announced.

I'm about 8 points down right now on Intel since I bought it two days before earnings were announced and held through.

Gents, the overall market is changing. IMO it may be near a peak, and that is why many securities are no longer holding their own -- never mind rising.

Wishing all prosperity,

it

THC->>Why couldn't they just buy back the shares now to cover?<<

The second that any "size to buy" shows up on the gunslinger's screens Katy bar the door. Or put another way there's fresh meat in the water. POW! Up she ratchets. Step one. Now the TA has turned. The squeeze is on. Step two. When they come back for the next "size to buy" they're now waiting in the doorways along the corridor and POW .. POW ... POW up she ratchets in a two-step. The media gets into the action demanding reasons for the upturn. POW ... POW up she ratchets in a four step now as the first wave from Joe Six-Pack comes in. She settles off easy one-step then. By then most big-house's and MMs have closed their shorts against their inventory positions and the real move gets set to come in as they move to reload inventory "size to buy" shows up on the gunslinger's screens and POW... POW.... POW she ratchets up now in a five step. The lingering short money can no longer stand it. "Size to buy shows up on the screen again and YIPES she ratchets up again. There's no stopping her now as the Editor of BusinessWeek decides to put Cymer on the cover of next week's magazine. Eventually the "size to buy" stops appearing on the screens and she settles into a sideways pattern until the next least line of resistance is determined.

Long way of saying "when the Bear's caught in the trap -yes, it is possible for it to chew through its leg to get out - but, it leaves the Bear wounded badly, crippled and a bloody mess in the process.

Gory thought isn't it.

Good Luck To Each And All
