I was in San Diego, but 25 years ahead of you. My boot platoon had about 75 guys with 3 DI's. Yep, I remember those 24 hour days quite well. It was 24 hours of tired. We lived in Quonset huts, but I'd guess they were mostly gone by your time. Some 15 years ago, while visiting our Navy son, we visited MCRD one Sunday. There were still 3 old Quonsets standing and one of them was my old one. Things looked a great deal different, I can tell you.
