james, I certainly know this.. but, we are talking pc's and dec just isn't in. question..How many pcs did DEC ship last qtr and what was the percentage increase.. ???? do you know the answer to this question????

Just some reports from IDC and dataquest " Analysts said the leading PC makers used the economies of scale gained from their size to take market share away from such second-tier players as AST Research Inc. and Digital Equipment Corp., as well as from third-tier direct-sales companies.
