I hope you don't mind my jumping in, but I love words.

Myriad may be either a noun or an adjective and so its use with an article can be accurate. YOu can say, "there are myriad stars in the sky (adj) or there is a myriad of stars (noun).

Prevent is one of the definitions of preclude, which means to make something impossible (from the Latin, pre- 'before' and a form of claudere -'to shut or close'.
"His illness precluded his attending the party."

Peruse- did you mean people read it as pursue?
