The only cat 5 ever to hit US coast land! That's indeed the worst.
As for human victims, only the size and thus much lower population on the narrow land strip around Key Largo explains why less people were killed.
As far as I recall, nobody and very little structure or trees in that area survived.

Whatever bodies were found were shuffled down in the mass grave under the monument just East of Hwy 1 in Islamorada.
