While most of us on this thread have a preference for bullion coins, many people traditionally buy gold in the form of jewelry, just as chains of 22 K or 18 K gold.

There's a lot more mark up, and they are harder to sell.

With regard to gold in Ukraine, old Russian gold coins are selling for much more there than here. Check out the antique shops there.
Also friend in Ukraine has about $10,000 US there in a bank received from relatives in the west. the bank will not let him withdraw it, but still receives the interest from it.
