As I recall, when I was in the Corps, they had some high school grads trained as helicopter pilots and made them warrant officers. The combat engineer battalion I spent most of my hitch with had an abundance of college grads who were both commissioned and enlisted. There were 4 surveyors in my outfit, two were college grads who chose to be enlisted.
