Couldn't agree more. That is why I have for a long time favored a sales tax - a consumption tax. .......I like the note idea. One close family I know has made the decision to make up boxes for the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq instead of exchanging gifts. I'm making a few gifts, but no shopping this year.

I test drove a couple of small commuter vehicles at a for dealership a few weeks ago.. (not all Fords and mostly 06's) ... anyway stopped by after hours today just to see if they had anything new on the lot.. They did and still all the vehicles from a few weeks a go in the same spots... folks realising that you don't need a new car every three years ?
