Not enough food. They needed fertile plains for rabbit activities. Han had that market cornered. Size is a factor in survival where food is short. Animals are larger where food is scarce, as size prevents starvation. Larger dinosaurs are found in meagre areas. Where food is plentiful, dinosaurs are smaller. Also size is a factor in cold, as less skin area per lb for a larger person. That is why Europeans are larger. They lived in cold food poor areas and evolved that way.
