Eric, I am too. I suspect that people who spend time doing a lot of reading on the subject like you and I do, will come to some inescapable conclusions. Namely, that climate change due to increases in CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is real and will have costly consequences. That humans are causing a significant amount of the increase and that if we had the political will, we could make a difference.

However, I also suspect that a majority of the population doesn't do that kind of due diligence. Combine that fact with the amazing amount of F.U.D. the oil and coal companies pump out and their influence in our government, and you have a recipe for no forward progress.

What we see on this thread is a microcosm of that.
