In fact sometimes the administrative clerks don't know or don't tell their customers this but you can walk in - I did - tell them directly that you don't want to have your shares lent out to be shorted - I did and they'll tell you they can accomplish that by just sticking it into your cash account part of your margin account; do it; then the very next night their computer will come in and sweep your shares out to be lent short without you or the clerks knowing - they did.

Especially in a thin float stock like CYMI that is extremely scarce and hard to find to use as short collateral.
