My last American made vehicle was a Chrysler truck in which the transmission lasted 46K miles. After having it repaired under warranty, it cratered after another 5K miles. After having to threaten the dealer with litigation to get him to fix it again, it was fixed, and driven straight from the Chrysler dealer to a Toyota dealer where I traded it for my first Toyota.

Never again. I understand why many people will not buy Japanese cars (WWII). But I've been screwed by American car manufacturers my last time. (To be honest, the Toyota I purchased crapped out at 54K miles and required a $3,000 engine overhaul -- but Toyota stepped up and did it even though it was out of warranty. That was a my last Toyota).

Sounds like you are hard on your trucks...
