I'm in favor of ETFs if we were trading rapid-fire,
say if a trade a week is allowed.

If it is a stand pat sort of contest, then I'd be
in favor of submitting individual picks (short or
long).

It just seems that a person might trade the short
term tenor of the market with ETFs, but individual
ideas take a lot longer to pan out.

I seem to remember shorting google at one point,
and, held these past nine months, that would have
worked out pretty well. It is the only good idea
I had however <g> I'd have made 40% on that.

I remain, Cashboy. Just long one stock that must
be down 80% or more in the past year.

Elroy, do you have an opinion - technical or otherwise - here?

I think we should stick with normal company stocks. Some ETFs are double leveraged, and that would be unfair. Also I'd rather have people go short a stock than buy a short ETF.
