..and now Gate's been retained with the full understanding that he will use his knowledge of Iraq deployments to effect an orderly withdrawal from that mistake. An assignment that caused him to decide to KEEP the position, although he'd previously said he "Couldn't foresee any circumstances that would have him stay."
