Seems to me you've now guaranteed yourself a write down where as there was a chance you would get all your money back with the original lender. Doesn't make sense to me.

I doubt the developer can get alternate funding at this point to take the bank out. Can't figure out why the bank would want to own the development.

I'm calling out the dogs of every deep pocket I know. I don't think it will work but Citibank (at least locally) is going to feel what its like to take a lot of backlash.
