Except for my long lamented TR-6, I have owned only American cars.

I've had mostly Americans, but I've had mostly company cars. I currently have a Volvo... which was cool until the key assembly went out and they had to go to Sweden to reprogram it or something.

I can see how American cars would look good after a TR-6! American cars ARE pretty good, in general, nowdays.

It's just that Japanese vehicles of all types, cars, motorcycles, are just unbelievably good. They're so good, you can find a good used one, and expect it to be totally reliable for years. If you took care of a new one, you might never need another vehicle.
