Or did you get the information elsewhere and, if so, where?>>> yes i am to the first question......this quote i have in my buffett file.....i just ckd and it is also referenced in janet lowe's new bk "warren buffett speaks" on page 160 where she discusses diversification..... anyone can obtain old letters to shareholders,etc. by calling brk....402-346-1400 or visit the web page (i think)......there are two books i know of......letters to shareholders 1977-1986 and letters to shareholders 1987-1993....... btw, buffett doesnt invest in tech stocks but has said the principles could apply if you have that circle of competence....although it is true that the holding period is not forever as he likes to do...... i think utek is a great value stock.....esp. when i backed up the truck at 14 to 15 per share.....and i have purchased recently around 28.....i really believe this is a great company.....and that unless something drastic happens i will think this when it approaches $200 per share in 4 or 5 yrs......and i am not trying to hype this stock....just look at their possible growth rate and what they could earn if they do $1billion in 3 or 4 yrs.....that alone with no future growth calc's gives you around $160...and as this thread has touched on....mems could be huge 4 or 5 yrs out......remember this paragraph is only my opinion as a long term holder.....others disagree......that is what makes this process so fun....... fwiw, lars
