I understand more about the problem than any liberal posting here, that's for certain. And you're right, it WILL make a great case study. We had one just like it in my graduate business policy course -- the Airlines. Same problem with a different variation -- overly aggressive unions with a highly capital AND labor intensive business. Net result? Even with massive government subsidies only a couple of airlines IN HISTORY have been able to consistently make money. The unions have turned the previously profitable automakers into money pits.
