That said, maybe bailing them all out would make the most sense??

Why doesn't the government bail out AMD? For only about $5 billion, AMD could build a new fab in the U. S. and keep Intel from being a monopoly, which would add skilled jobs in New York and benefit all computer consumers in the world economy.

At least most economists having expressed their opinion to the press here fairly rapidly started expressing their opinion, that in hindsight it was a mistake not to bail out Lehmann.

In foresight they didn't express that opinion. You suppose if we go into a depression after the big three fail that the economists "in hindsight" might say it was a mistake not to bail them out?
