"Nero played the violin while Rome burned."

No he didn't. The violin wasn't for over a thousand years after Nero burned Rome. The phrase of record is 'Nero fiddled while Rome burned'. Fiddling could be taken in more than one context. It could have meant he that he was just fiddling around, as in wasting time idly, as the City was destroyed. Or it could have meant that he was playing with a musical instrument like the lyre or cithara but doing it in some trivial manner.

In any event, the lesson learned should be that people of principle should care enough about their society to say and do things with sincerity, integrity, and purpose. Characteristics I have never seen you display btw.
