I just made a 2100-mile trip in my Prius. Spent about $78 on gasoline, or about 3.7 cents a mile. A lot of that was driving 75 mph.

Spent a lot more on a meal for two at Gallatoire's in New Orleans. (Two tables over James Carville was taking it easy after the presidnetial campaign, with his teenage daughter; they were joined by the announcer for Monday Night Football--the Saints vs. the Packers was played the next night.) The only other name I have to drop would be that of the nameless ducks at the Peabody in Memphis:
