They have sucked the Big 3 dry, to the point the body is nearly lifeless, almost a cadaver, and now the unions are willing to talk...

It is interesting to think about what might possibly come of this. UAW has GOT to see the writing on the wall. This is management's change to get some real concessions and if they blow it, everyone loses.

It should be simple enough for the union to see that if they can't concede sufficiently to make the Big 3 competitive with the other guys, it is a dead end. But the unions are going to be more interested in the here and now than they are in protecting the future of the membership.

Decades of caving to the pressure has brought us to this point. I saw this morning that the unions are ready to talk, which is a radical change from 10 or so days ago. It will be interesting to see where this leads.

The same buttholes who flew corporate jets to DC in November and voted for Bush twice are the ones ultimately responsible for GM's demise. Why are you never willing to call a spade a spade?

Mgmt? Yup. All those golden parachutes, excessive bonuses and GOP dues did a number on those car companies.
