I think this is an excellent idea, should drive up the real estate down there.

I think better idea would be just make Red and Blue states, just split it down like they did India way back when.

The Dems can have the East and West Coasts kind of like East and West Pakistan.

I know Texas. I lived in Port Arthur, Woodville and Dallas.

Goodbye and good luck. :>)

Except there is no "Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848." There is an Annexation Treaty of 1844, which wasn't approved by the Senate and, in any case, has no such language allowing Texas to secede.

Texas was annexed to the US by the Joint Resolution of Congress of 1845, which makes no mention of secession. This is a long-told farce popularized by the nuts in the Republic of Texas movement.

SLEEP WELL TONIGHT! THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU!!

You left one important feature off your list of Texas attributes.

Texas also has the Rio Grande and everything that goes with it, including close to 2 million illegals and a near $5 Billion annual support payment for them.
