The attraction of moving to a new country is not that the politics are not screwed up but rather as an outsider you can remain ignorant, disinterested, and unattached for at least a few years. As soon as you start caring, it is time to move again.

Caring and not being able to do anything about it is what really sucks. So stop caring about Canada, move there, and enjoy the cold beer and full nude strip joints for a few years. Once you start feeling like a Canadian move somewhere else. IMHO

That's part of the reason why I was saying that nowhere makes sense anymore ...

otoh, Mr Potato Head's little junta is only going to last 6 weeks or so, for which he's cemented his place in history as an anti-democratic PM who repeatedly lied to the nation -- I can live with that. <g>

As I understand it, the GG could/should have turned down his request to prorogue -- having lost the confidence of the house, he is no longer her first minister with the right to 'advise' her -- but that's her (royal) prerogative, and she undoubtedly had other considerations ...

She's black, French-speaking, and from Quebec, and Harper's already got his hoopleheads in a lather over the supposedly "undemocratic" putsch being carried out by the "separatist coalition" -- much like your own wingnut types, they'd be screaming bloody murder if a Haitian immigrant gave 'their' government to the enemy.

So I figure she gave him his 6 weeks to allow the hoopleheads time to absorb what every constitutional expert in the country is saying:

As for the lies, here's just a few of them:
