Even if we did everything you demand.......we could not abandon coal over nite. Nuclear probably is a good idea but not moving in that direction at the pace you want does not justify dumping coal debris into America's clean rivers.

I am not justifying it. I am just saying it is a side effect of the need for all coal to burn.

And I would venture a guess that the damage from that is far less than damage of all the polution that goes up with the smoke and is distributed over vast areas by rain.

But get used to more dirt in your environment, not less:

The country has elected Obama president, not this clown (Reid). I think Obama's opposition to nuclear energy is one promise to the lefties that would be the easiest to break and put Reid in his place. We will see.

He was vague enough on the issue...
