Tenchusatsu,

And how about the current unskilled workers who are now out of a job?

Well, good place to start is making sure that our schools measure up to the world standards, so that you end up with intrinsic production of illetarates. Do you think our schools are so effective with their time that we can have the shortest school year? In Japan the school year is apparently 50 days longer. You can't change the past, but you can change the future.

Tell them, "Life is tough"? No politician ever wants to tell anyone that, especially not those who will be responsible for his or her re-election.

Life is though, no matter what a politician will say. It is too bad that McCain had to sack Phill Gramm for some tough talk.

Then there's the whole question about whether a society as huge as America can support so many skilled workers. It kind of gets "top-heavy," if you know what I mean. Not everyone can be CEO.

Countries like Singapore don't seem to have trouble with their citizens being too educated and too skilled...
