I am paid USD and repatriated wil give lots of BRL. I have been though a high real upturn where I was getting less and less BRL for my USD.

Now I start gorging BRL... But below 2.25 - 2.30 BRL becomes undervalued.

I am eyeing some neighboring property around my area. Maybe I will find some easy pickings there...

Brazil’s Bovespa May Rise to 66,500 by End-2009, Itau Says

By Alexander Ragir

Dec. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil’s Bovespa Index may rise to 66,500 by the end of next year, Itau Corretora said, recommending banks and steelmakers as industries that are likely to outperform the market.

The Sao Paulo-based brokerage’s estimate of “fair value” for the main stock index is 9.5 percent below its previous forecast of 73,500. It also represents an 89 percent gain from yesterday’s closing level of 35,127.77.

“It is not time yet to take on a lot of risk,” wrote strategists Tomas Awad and Sergio Vailati in a note to clients. “Even so, although we fully agree that news flow will continue to be negative, we believe that the sharp deceleration of October and November economic results could soon make upcoming month- over-month comparisons slightly more forgiving.”

The Bovespa may trade at 12.7 times 2009 earnings, up from an estimated 7 times, they wrote.

The “major risk” to Itau’s forecast would be car demand not recovering to “reasonable” levels in the next one to two months, boosting unemployment, the strategists wrote.

Brazil as example for US go through difficult times: It could be that more of us in the U.S. will learn more about this as we work through economic uncertainties

Brazil people generally seemed to have less income than people in the U.S. with similar jobs. At a machinery manufacturing company, the average wage for assembling tractor components, welding, and other kinds of assembly work was the equivalent of $400 to $700 per month in terms of U.S. dollars. They live in smaller homes; drive smaller cars; spend a bigger share of their income on basic necessities like food, clothing and shelter; manage other things in their lives according to their means ... and look for ways to make the best of life. It could be that more of us in the U.S. will learn more about this as we work through economic uncertainties.
