I listened to the conference call, but it was a little difficult to hear with no noise cancellation going on. These are some notes I thought were interesting:

This is the 6th consecutive increase in quarterly earnings

There are now 80 companies shipping products in the last quarter

28 companies contributed to revenues with over 30 products from L&H

They are really focusing on the medical sales area and see this as a significant growth opportunity. They said their receivables might be a little higher due to the way they do contracts with these companies.
They tend to have longer term payment terms (they are conservative on cash).

When asked about competiton they said they are focusing to specific markets that others are not yet doing. One is the professional market for speach translation. They see themselves as the leader in this area. Japan seems to be first followed by some other Asian markets. The will continue with the horizontal markets (like what's sold at Comp USA) as important but not their only driving force.

They see the Microsoft announcement as a change in paradigm. They don't just see it for speach applications but for a whole re-working of the Microsoft Windows system, and they see themselves as the one to change it. They also said it's moving along much quicker than the financial community undertands right now. They will first work with next version of NT, followed later by Windows.

Someone asked about using the technology for cars and they said that by next year they will have more to say about this new technology and how they will play in it.

People all commented how good the earnings were and were upbeat on how they were running the company. The big thing to come away with is that Microsoft is going to change everything with this company, and they said this a couple of times. They also would not say much about some of their big customers contributing to sales because they said they are still in negotiation. To me I read Microsoft into what they were saying the whole time. I think this is what is going to really make this company grow in the future.
