Obviously, active workers do not receive any of this compensation, so it is simply not accurate to describe it as part of their "earnings."

Get over this. It is $11/hour. Forget about it. We're still dealing with well over $60/hour.

What, exactly, is your point with all this?

You and Al are apparently the only persons on the planet who don't agree that overpaid workers are the key problem for the Big 3. Even the UAW has essentially admitted they're overpaid now (by 'coming back to the table').

So, what are you trying to argue? If it is simply that the $75 figure is too high, fine -- if you adjust out the stuff you've cited, it is maybe $62/hour. So, okay. Do you think THAT isn't too high?

Is it just, "I'm a liberal so I think unions should be untouchable" -- even if they destroy the US automakers? Forget the numbers, which you obviously have a lot of trouble with, and tell the thread what exactly your point is with this argument?

Is this the best you can do? Quoting 3 times a PR statement of UAW?

You are weak.
