In the "olden days" they could and did have many local papers....but today, with TV, cable and internet competing for advertising dollars, more of the local papers are having a difficult time...

Go to the Colorado Historical Society website, and follow the links to the Colorado Historical Newspapers.....I spend a good deal of time there on some of the old papers (back to the 1880's in many cases) because my family on both sides was from there....one side from the early 1870's, and the other side from the early 1900's....

The Rocky Mountain News was a wonderful resource for all sorts of things, and it would be so sad if it folds!
