I was given the same information about a product called "Whey Low." Claims are that it has been found to have no more than 20% of the glycemic index of glucose, and also 1/3 of the glycemic index of sugar.

I'm not familiar with milk sugar (lactose) so have avoided using it.

I'm also not a diabetic, so haven't boned up on what is and is not permissible.

As I will get roller coaster blood glucose levels if I don't carefully watch my sugar and starch intake, I looked into agave syrup, because in the last year it was often recommended to me for its "low glycemic" index. It is often labeled "safe for diabetics".
