Chas I am quoting from the article - I disagree with Bernard-Henri Lévy and his quote in the article related to Russia for the same reason you mention China.

China will not give a captive market like Europe - see my other posts on this issue.(China now is a world power and not what it was after WWII - their GDP is 3 times that of Russia and please add India to the mix)

The article reflects the ongoing perception of Russia in France and by Bernard-Henri Lévy and the still lingering fear of USSR.

Unfortunate many forget that today Russia does not have the resources of former USSR but it is nevertheless very aggressive and this must stop ASAP.

In the meantime the present crisis makes the needed work lowering Russian grandiose dreams
