LOL...the garment industry...would you propose that US workers earn third world country wages to keep an industry here? Your list is ridiculous.

There were some high ends clothes made in New York City well into 1980s and early 90s. The union enforcer would visit every shop, making sure there were no non-union workers working there. They are all gone now. a whole section of midtown Manhattan used to be called the Garment District. If union remains in place, 20 years we will be saying to our kids: "Detroit used to be called Motor City back when they still made cars here."
