Winter Watch...

"With the crash of oil price towards the $40 area, not only has the marginal production of oil been taken offline, but there is now a good chance that average cash cost oil will be taken offline as well. In other words nearly half the oil being produced in the world is now profitless on a cash cost basis. As a result some of it will be shut in, and perhaps quickly, thus setting the stage for a large recovery rally in energy. There is absolutely no way that enough demand is disappearing to offset the potential loss of this high cash cost oil. This is a dramatic overshoot, and is a classic manifestation of the boom-bust speculation induced maladjusted roller coaster economics we live in today, and better get used to it."
