Why not? What's so fuckin' HOLY about military service to you wingnuts? Our military hasn't actually been involved in defending our country for a very long time. It mostly just bulls around here and there, enforcing corporate hegemony around the globe. 9/11 didn't require a military response, and it would have been much better had we not done so. Most of the people that JOIN the military do it because: They were dumb and naive and BELIEVED the John Wayne movies They were in some lousy situation the military allowed them to escape They wanted money for college They wanted to see the world and screw all the prostitutes in it So, they joined the military, an unnecessary government sponsored jobs program. Most other countries have realized they don't really NEED a military anymore, and sport a minimalist one.

But Ali has been. And i-node himself was included. What, precisely, are you referring to? I have often referred to Al's positions as anti-American, which I stand by. But I would never, ever criticize his child's military service, if he has one serving. There were two who served in Iraq...one I believe did a second tour of duty. I am glad to hear that you think Al is still anti American inspite of the fact that he potentially sacrificed his sons for this country. It will allow me not to feel guilty when I think of you as an anti American.
