The US Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is free money for the poor that can be used to buy food. It started out as paper stamps, but these days it's an electronic benefit card which gets refilled periodically. There were 31.5 million people (including children and elderly) receiving SNAP benefits in September 2008. It's based on your economic situation and number of dependents, so you can have a low-paying job and still be eligible.

There are also other programs like food banks, soup kitchens, meals on wheels, etc. If you're really hungry, you can trade in your gun for food at the rate of $100 for a regular gun, and $200 for an assault rifle. I am not making this up...

We are serious about banning hunger in America!

Note: If you're too thin, you may be diagnosed with anorexia/bulimia and committed to a facility where they will train you how to eat and gain weight.
