Bruno was a great man. I just tossed out that tidbit of information to show that even hundreds of years ago people were able to realize implications about our universe that could not be explained until recently. There were, of course, alternative explanations for a dark night, such as a thick space-cloud layer or something. It's just that nothing ever turned up. Space it seems is not infinite. But there were those who, without telescopes or rockets or a knowledge of electromagnetism, could still make some really profound observations and conclusions. TP
