Too much to comment on.

"Snatched our guns"?

"96 Trucks carrying Humvees and other vehicles". Both the transport and the vehicles they were to deliver were destroyed.

"22 trucks destroyed in same place the week before."
No warning there. Huh?

Geography is always a significant strategic and tactical factor in war.
It is 600 miles from the Karachi port to Kandahar by road. It is another 500 miles to Kabul.
That is our main supply route (MSR).

They went to school on us.
We cannot significantly increase our forces in Afghanistan and only supply them by air. I am not sure we can resupply what we have there now by air. Like it or not, geography is the limiting factor to our force structure.

The OSS and MACVSOG proved you can do much more damage and do it faster by attacking supply depots rather than ambush convoys. The Afghanis we taught also learned that lesson while fighting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
Convoy ambushes coupled with supply depot attacks are best. Besides the physical damage inflicted, that tactic ties up huge numbers of troops for supply security, both in depot and along the MSR.
