To tell the truth, I've never regretted not trying to buy the place. I remember, as a young boy, when the Colorado River ran across the valley that became Shadow Mountain Lake. I rode a horse along the river with my grandfather many times. It's become so commercialized now it's tragic. I like to remember it as it was when I was growing up. The folks got out before the area became over grown with condos and house trailers. I've heard from friends that it's become a real mess in recent years.
