Sounds like wish-projection on your part.

As we ALL KNOW... the normal arc of public esteem for every President starts out fairly high, and then declines over time.

Until, at the end of their time in office, most President's are below their earlier popularity highs.

This is NORMAL, (but, obviously, although the individual numbers vary with each particular officeholder, the general arc of popularity is usually noticeable still).

That is why most Presidents only have a limited time in office to actually effect any major changes (because the 'clock runs down' on their political capital).

I'm sure that Obama's arc will follow the normal pattern... but, hey; the Guy is still a MONTH and a HALF AWAY from even assuming the office!
