Excuse me, but why do you think Obama sought out Jeremiah Wright? Because he had political ambitions and for a half-white nerdy elitist type (which characterization cost him his first election) he needed to appear as "black" as possible. Thus a big church in his area with a "black value system" and "black liberation theology". Obama sought out a hater not just to appear once on a stage with, but to show up every Sunday in his congregation. To raise his kids in his church. --------------------------------------------------------- And btw don't you think choosing a DNC head who famously proclaimed "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for" is an embrace of hate? How about when prominent Democrats talk about "putting a bullet between the President's eyes" and accuse Bush of killing soldiers for "kicks"? Is those not expressions of hate? And how do we explain the hatred lumped on Republicans on this thread - the calls for mass suicide, beheadings, and death wishes? Are those not expressions of hatred? ------------------------------------------------------- Fact is, conservatives tend to think liberals are nuts and have some emotional or mental disorder, are brainwashed, etc. IOW we think you guys are deluded. But we do think you could be straightened out potentially. You're not beyond hope. In fact, many conservatives are former liberals. Life tends to make people more conservative - its the experience and assumption of responsibility that does it imo. Raising kids, that makes loads of people more conservative. Seeing people make dumb mistakes, realizing that so much of what plagues people is bad choices caused by bad values, not some fundamental unfairness in the world and society that needs revolutionizing. Liberals however tend to think conservatives are evil.
