You are right, they (inode/harris) are wrong. $55-$70 crude is needed to keep the energy nations afloat but more importantly it will also keep green alive as well.


You can't artificially induce people to drive vehicles that don't make any financial sense. Can't do it. The government can't afford to pay $7,500/vehicle for every person to drive a Chevy Volt.

The technology will continue evolve, albeit at a slightly slower pace. That's okay. If the price of oil goes up again, which it surely will, the pace will quicken.

To suggest that $25 or $50 oil is a bad thing given what the country has just gone through with much higher prices is just silly.

In addition to what you point out, $25 oil suggests there is very little demand; that the recession is very, very deep......much deeper than oil at $40.
