The S10 EVs were introduced in 1997. That's almost 12 year old technology. A lot has changed since then, Hugh. 12 years may not seem like a lot of time to us old folks, but I still work in the tech industry and tech is improving at EXPONENTIAL rates. Battery tech has improved quite a bit since 1997. If we can get EVs on the road at scale, meaning a 5% market share or better, then it will also be cost competitive over the life of the car. Economies of scale are key, though. No car can be competitive if it remains a small volume production.
