Given the change in markets, pricing now in decimals and computer programs, there would have to be range movements rather than a simple uptick. E.g. A stock would have to go up the greater of .05 or the difference between bid/ask spread in order to be meaningful.

“It was a good rule back when trading was manual, but now that trading is much more automated, I don’t see it as a viable solution,” said C. Thomas Richardson, global head of transaction services for New York-based brokerage Nyfix Inc.

I totally agree with this statement. How hard would it be to buy a hundred shares causing an uptick and then dragging it down with several thousand after that?

What good is it?

What we need is the DTCC to open the books and provide the information of how many stocks weren't really bought. Pull the ill gotten money back in from the off shore accounts and figure out a way to make them buy the shares.

I was listening to some of these hearings and heard one of the guys making a statement about the BK'D drug down company's I suspect and said it's going to be difficult to figure out who owns what and they needed time to get it sorted out.

Maybe justice will prevail if we John Q. Public keep putting on the pressure. We have to keep fighting this. We are so close.
