You say:

That would be like saying, "allowing blacks not to be slaves was thought to be harmful to society but once it was shown free black men were not harmful to society, the laws against their freedom were abandoned."

Black men and women are free, and free to marry, because our constitution guarantees them those rights. Not because some pretend reasonable do-gooder fuzzy headed racists decided their freedom wouldn't hurt society.

To put it any other way is crap, condescending, and racist in my opinion. Human rights are not to be granted only when some BS know-it-alls decide there's no harm in it.

Is that clear?
