Homophobia is exhibited by those who are gay but will not admit it to themselves or others. It is an odd state of affairs. They cannot deal with their own feelings so they lash out at others thinking that this will make them feel differently. This issue is very simple. There is no discrimination between single and straight in civil unions and marriages when it comes to the legal definition. Everyone understands that this does not mean bigamy, polygamy or marrying your baby brother or pet goldfish. People who say anything like that are simply unable to come to terms with themselves.
